"Granny's Apple Tart Pie" Recipe
I love this recipe, and it is so easy to make so I am not sure why it takes me so long to pull it out again! Each time I make it, it reminds me of those times Granny would bake it. She would call to tell me she had a treat for me, and I would go meet her along the path to see what it was! Memories are such a good thing! I had been thinking I should make this recipe sometime and decided to not long ago. I thought you might enjoy making this sometime as a treat for breakfast, something to go along with your teatime, or a little dessert when you have guests over. It is so easy to make, but I think I love it so much because it reminds me of apple dumplings! Have fun baking! *Ok, as I began to type this recipe I discovered that I really "recreated" it a bit! Sometimes a girl has just got to experiment a little!
~1 large can of biscuits (10 biscuits) *I like to use crescent dinner rolls.
~2 large apples, chopped (*I love Granny Smith apples, but use the ones you prefer.)
~1 stick of butter **I DID NOT use ANY butter, and it still turned out so yummy!...I am always trying to create a healthier version of recipes!
~1 cup of sugar *I did not use ANY sugar...
~1 cup 7UP or Sprite **I used a single serving packet of apple cider mix and followed the directions for making the cider.
Roll out each biscuit (if using crescent dinner rolls, spread out each triangle and continue with recipe) and fill with chopped apples and sprinkle with cinnamon. Fold over and press edges. Place "tarts" in a 9 x 13 greased baking dish (I spray with Pam). Combine butter, sugar, and 7UP (or Sprite) and pour over tarts. This is when I just pour the apple cider over the tarts.
*I love pomegranates so I decided to sprinkle a few pomegranate seeds over the top of the tarts. This added a little tartness to the dish which I love! It also added a little color and made a pretty treat!

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until brown.
Enjoy, and have a little fun
