Congratulations to Kate Gleason~

the winner of the "Soldier's Wife SpecialTea Gift Presentation"

This page is dedicated in honor of celebrating Kate Gleason, the winner of the "Soldier's Wife SpecialTea Gift Presentation".  I had such fun preparing a special gift container full of goodies for Kate.  I hope she will be able to take a few minutes all along to enjoy a cup of tea and be reminded how much she and her family are appreciated.

Sometimes we don't hear enough about our soldiers such as where they are from and about the families at home supporting them so I wanted to make sure you have the opportunity to feel as though you have actually met this special family.  I asked Kate to share a little bit with me about them.  I hope you will enjoy reading about their beautiful family just as much as I did.

Kate and Tim were married on October 13, 2006, so they will soon be celebrating their first anniversary miles away from each other, as Tim is deployed overseas.  Tim has been gone since the end of July preparing for his overseas deployment.  During this time, Kate has been preparing for a special assignment as well...becoming a new mom as she anticipated the birth of their first child.  Their son, Timothy Jaycob (TJ), was born on August 30th at 5:30pm while his daddy was away.  Kate says, "We wanted a little Timmy around while (big) Tim was gone." This sweet little guy soon met his daddy though, as Tim managed to go home to see TJ about 24 hours after his birth. Tim took his family home shortly after and was able to be home with them for 3 days before he had to return to duty for his overseas deployment.

Tim works as an elevator mechanic in his civilian life and reports for duty once a month for the Army National Guard where he is a helicopter mechanic.  Kate is also in the military and serves in the Air National Guard as an aircraft engine mechanic.

Kate says the hardest part of Tim being gone has nothing to do with her...it's the fact that he is missing all of these wonderful days with TJ, and TJ will be delayed in getting to know his daddy.   Kate says, "Having TJ here with me while Tim is away is such a blessing, and I really believe he (TJ) is the only thing that keeps a smile on my face every single day!  I still look at him every day and can't believe he is ours and here to stay!  We could not have dreamed of having a more perfect little boy!"  Kate shared a little about Tim as she stated, "Tim is the most wonderful, generous man I know and will do anything for his friends and family.  He worries about everyone else so much it can drive me crazy!  He is a best friend to everyone and irreplaceable to me and TJ so we can't wait to have him home safe and sound!"
When you look at these sweet pictures, I think you will agree that it is obvious Tim feels the same way! FAMILY...what a beautiful blessing!

Tim will be gone for approximately a year, so he will return home shortly before TJ turns one. Not only will they be celebrating their first wedding anniversary away from each other but also many of TJ's "firsts"...Christmas, walking, talking, and so much more.  I am sure Kate will be busy capturing these moments so she may share every little detail with Tim, and he can feel as though he has experienced these treasured moments with them through pictures and video for now.  And, in the meantime, Kate says she is already thinking about that special reunion of when Tim returns home..."a dream I play over and over in my head!".

Kate and her family are in our thoughts and prayers, just as the many other soldiers and their families are. Remember to make the most of each day with your loved ones, as many families are having to deal with separations during this time.  I love pictures, as many of you know, so be sure to snap those special and fun moments so you always have a little piece of your loved ones nearby and may relive the special moments you share when you look at your treasured pictures.  "Thank you" to our soldiers and their families...we appreciate YOU and all you are doing for our country each day!

Have a "tealightful" day!
